Accounts & Project Co-Ordinator Wanted
Are you a master of multitasking with a sharp eye for financial detail? Jason Gorton Building Limited is looking for a Construction Accounts & Project Coordinator to join our Invercargill-based team. This is a pivotal role where your expertise in financial tracking and project administration will directly ensure the smooth, compliant delivery of our construction projects.

The Role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will manage the vital intersection of project finances, site coordination, and client communication. This is a permanent, part-time position; 20 - 30 hours per week.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Financial & Risk Management: Monitoring project expenditures (pricing vs. actuals) and cash flow using Xero and other software. You will also handle accounts payable, accounts receivable and manage variations and claims.
Documentation & Compliance: Drafting and negotiating contracts, managing tender processes, and ensuring all projects meet legal and ethical standards.
Health & Safety: Maintaining accurate H&S documentation, staff training records, and ensuring strict compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015.
Client Relationship Management: Supporting our clients from their initial enquiry through to build completion with timely updates and professional issue resolution, this part requires project co-ordination.
About You
To be successful in this role, you should bring a blend of technical proficiency and "people person" energy. We are looking for:
Proven Experience: A background in project administration and coordination.
Tech Savvy: Proficiency in Xero and construction management platforms, however ideally you would have a natural aptitude for technology and can independently navigate and master software systems.
Numerical Accuracy: Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
Communication Skills: Excellent negotiation abilities and the capacity to build rapport and communicate clearly with diverse stakeholders.
Compliance Knowledge: A solid understanding of Health and Safety standards. Familiarity with NZ building codes is a significant advantage, however not essential
Adaptability: The ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and navigate ambiguity with a calm, solutions-focused approach.
